Vasantidevi Patil Institute of Pharmacy, Kodoli was established with the aim to impart quality pharmacy education and training to cater the needs of the pharmacy profession and society at large. The journey started in 2003 by introducing the first Pharmacy institute in the Kodoli under aegis of Shri Yashwant Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Kodoli. The institute is approved by AICTE New Delhi, PCI New Delhi, and DTE Mumbai, recognized by Government of Maharashtra & affiliated to a MSBTE, Mumbai and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The Institute is situated at the foot hills of Panhala, in the area of Kodoli, about 10 kilometres away from National Highway- 4 and 35 km away from major city, Kolhapur. The institute occupies the area of approximately 4 acres having its own 5470 sq.mts. building with excellent infrastructure which in-houses facilities such as sophisticated laboratories, resourceful library with latest books, national& international journals and well-equipped classrooms with modern teaching aid. Library Rules
General Rules to be followed inside the library
In the library, absolute silence and decorum should be upheld. Those who break the rules may not get books from the librarian.
Before entering the library grounds, students must turn off their mobile devices. Using mobile phones and other audio equipment within the library, whether with a speaker or headphones, is absolutely forbidden.
During working days, the library is open from 9:30 AM to 6 PM, and during test days, it is open from 8:00 AM to 6 PM. On gazetted holidays, the library is still closed.
Only readers with library membership cards are permitted to use the library. To enter the library, you must have an identity card.
Visitors to the library are required to sign the visitor's register.
Borrowing books from other readers' cards is prohibited.
Upon entering the library, all students are required to sign the "Student Visitor Register" with their names.
All students should keep their possessions or valuables safe; if they are lost, they are totally responsible.
In order to utilise the library services, all students must use their student ID card and library card.
Before accessing the library's resources, you should register to become a member.
No bringing personal items inside the library.
No refreshments of any type may be consumed anywhere on the library's premises.
Rules of Issuing books
Issued books must be submitted before the deadlines, if not earlier.
The library retains the right to withdraw any book that has been checked out, even before the due date.
No material designated for consultation, including rare books, theses, dissertations, reference books, and other literature, may be distributed.
The library in-charge should be notified in writing right away if a book or library card is lost.
The borrower must inspect the book's physical condition before borrowing it; otherwise, the borrower will be held liable for any damage discovered upon return.
After the course is finished and all library fees have been paid in full, the "No dues" certification will be removed from the library.
The student card will be used to access reference materials solely in the reading room. Reference books cannot be taken outdoors by students. Journals and reference materials cannot be borrowed.
Each B. Pharm. and D. Pharm. student will get three books for a period of seven days, after which a fee of 10 Rupees per day will be assessed (including holiday). If no other readers have requested it, the book from the account may only be republished twice.
A maximum of five books for M. Pharm students will be provided for ten days; thereafter, a fine of ten rupees per day will be assessed (including holiday).
If no request has been made in the meantime, the book will only be distributed to the same individual once for an additional week. When renewing a book, you must present it to the librarian.
The librarian has the right to recall any book at any moment, even before the customary loan period has ended.
It is prohibited to publish journals and periodicals outside of the library.
In most cases, being away from school will not be accepted as a justification for a delay in the return of books.
The reader must confirm the accuracy of the entries in the daily report record. The daily report registration books must be returned by 5:00 pm on the same day. a further fine of 10 rupees every day (including weekends and holidays).
The card must be turned in to the library both when the book is provided and when it is returned. Make sure to re-submit and cancel your account for the booking.
M. Pharm. students will be given access to some reference books (apart from pharmacopoeia and government publications) during the course of the weekend or overnight.
Borrowers are required to bring in the same book (same edition) and return it in the event of damage or loss of a book. He or she will be required to pay double the MRP for the book if it is not readily available in the market. The pricing of rare and out-of-print books will be set by the principle. Old and used books are never accepted when replacing the book.
If someone is proven to be willfully breaking the library's rules and regulations, the principle has the authority to instantly terminate their library membership. If a borrower develops a pattern of returning books over time, the ability to issue books for home reading may be suspended.
After usage, every journal and periodical should be returned to its proper location.
All payments for the library, including any penalties (if any), must be made to the college officers, with receipts being shown to the librarian.
A library Rules outlined above may be revised, adjusted, or amended, or new rules may be established by the library committee. These changes will be binding on all parties after the necessary library committee proceedings have been authorised by the syndicate time to time.
A student who has misplaced his ticket or library card should inform the librarian right away. Duplicate tickets can be obtained by paying a Rs. 50 fine per ticket. Upon proper application and payment of a fine, a duplicate card may be granted.
A student will not be permitted to borrow books until the books already due from him are returned and the fee is paid if he fails to return the book or pay the fine imposed on him and other costs to the library. Such shortcomings will be brought to the principal's attention for punishment.
Until the books have been returned and all outstanding debts against the student have been satisfied, no transfer certificate or behaviour certificate may be given to a student.
It is completely forbidden to reserve seats, smoke in the library or reading room, bring food or drinks, toss cigarette stubs or food packaging, or do any of the other banned activities. A quiet zone is the library. The college library and the area around it must be kept completely silent. Those who break this rule shall suffer the consequences.
Borrower cards for libraries cannot be transferred. The books borrowed with his or her card are the borrower's responsibility.
The librarian has the right to retrieve any book from any user at any moment, and the user must return it right away.
Rules pertaining to the care of the books
Students are required to use all Library books with care. Marking with pencil or ink, or underlining or annotating books, folding pages, removing pages from the book is forbidden. Disciplinary action will be taken against students damaging books in any manner.
Validity of cards
Library borrower cards are valid for the entire duration of the course to access library facilities at the end of the course borrower cards shall be returned to the library.
No dues Certificate
Each student shall obtain āNo dues certificateā from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrowerās cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
Book bank
SC/ST students of college can become a member of the book bank giving application along with caste certificate, by paying refundable membership fee of Rs. 100 for UG Rs.200 for PG for the full duration of course. Members of the book bank will be issued 4 textbooks for each semester. Book shall be returned within two days after the theory examination, otherwise a fine of Rs.1/- per day will be charged.
Reference section
This section has Encyclopaedia, dictionaries, Textbooks Reference books etc. which are only available for reference. User can make use of these resources.
Journal Section
In these section journals, general magazines and newsletter are available. They are arranged alphabetically. The latest issues are displayed on display rack and other previous issues are arranged in the drawer. Bound volumes of periodicals are arranged in rack alphabetically and are meat only for reference within the library.
Procedure for refund of caution money and library depositszz
The amount of the Caution Money and Library Deposits will be refunded when a student leaves the college or cancels his admission.
A student is required to fill in the prescribed application form which can be had from the college counter and submit the same to the office duly filled in, dated, signed accompanied by the necessary deposit receipts, Identity Cards.
The deposit not claimed within a period of one year will be forfeited. The amount of deposit will be refunded to the student after 15 days from date of the receipts of their application.
The students who have not surrendered their Identity Cards should surrender the same against the deposit refund.
Penalties
Student must return all library books within 10 days before the end of the term or as indicated by the notice issued.
At the end of the second term, all books will have to be returned as per the Notice.
The Examination results of students failing to observe this notice will be withheld in addition to the payment of overdue / fine till they clear their library account.
The college leaving certificate, transference certificate or migration would not be issued to the student who are in possession of Library books / periodicals.
The Caution Money and Library Deposit paid by the student will be forfeited by the college in such cases.
A student who loses a library book must replace it or pay its cost and penalty if the book is not available.
If student loses the identity card and if other student misuses that card for the issue of books, the student who has lost the identity card will be penalized.
Text books, reference-books, newspapers and journals will be issued on Identity card for reference only and the same should be returned before the library is closed for the day.
Students should not take the journals, newspapers, reference books etc., outside library, failing which suitable penalty would be charged and disciplinary action will be taken against them.
RULES FOR THE FACULTY
Please Keep pin drop Silence. Conversations, talking, loose talks etc. shouldnāt be observed in library. Please switch off the mobile or keep under silence mode within the Library Premises.
Faculty members and visitors should make the entry in staff register.
Issued books must be submitted on or before of submission dates.
Book card should be submitted in Library after issuing book & after returning book. Be sure about the re-submission & cancellation of book from your account.
The library reserves the right to recall any issued book even before its due date.
Material such as rare books, theses, dissertations, reference books, and other books marked for consultation shall not be issued.
In case of damages and loss of book, a borrower is asked to bring in the same book (same edition) and submit it. If the book is not available in the market, he/she will have to pay price of book which is twice the MRP of the book. In case of rare and out of print books, the principal will decide the price. While replacing the book, old and second- hand books will never be accepted.
For the faculty members five books will be issued for one month.
For renewal purpose faculty will have to present personally along with the book.
If books are not returned or renewed within the specific date, fine per day will be collected from faculty.
Some reference books (Except Pharmacopoeia & Govt. Publications) will be issued on an overnight basis to faculty members.
If library book is lost by the borrower, he/she will have to pay cost amount of book or replace the book.
On discontinuity/cessation of services, obtain āNo Dues Certificateā from the Central Library.
Cleanliness is the prime important aspect followed by discipline in library. Hence be sure to maintain the clean environment for the gesture and image of our college and library. Before starting the books issue hours for readers, we reserve small time for cleaning & dusting.
The Library Rules framed above, may be changed, altered, amended, and / or may be added by the Library Committee in their rights which will be effective and binding to all concerned, after the relevant proceedings of the library committee and approval by the syndicate time to time.
