SC-ST Cell
About
To promotes the special interest of students in the reserved category and to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficult, we have constituted SC/ST Cell. The prime objective of the cell is to serve as a grievance-redressal cell for the grievances of SC/ST students, staff, and others, and to provide them with the assistance they need to address both their academic and administrative issues.
Vision
To ensure the Institution level Prevention of Atrocities (as defined within the meaning of this Act) on the SC, ST Staff, Faculty and Students as well as ensure the equal opportunity in matters of employment/promotions subject to fulfilling Qualification, Eligibility criteria and Merits.
Mission
The Committee expected to conduct various awareness and counselling programs from time to time on the subject of SC/ST of competent authorities. The committee must follow all the instructions for student’s grievance and appropriate action must be taken.
Objective
- To act as a coordinating unit that works for the wellbeing of the students of this community and to work for creating awareness about the employment opportunities
- To deal with all affairs related to SC-ST scholarships and reservations available in the Indian Government Policy
- Addressing the complaints and grievances of the students of the institution and resolving it peacefully.
Code of Conduct
- Special interests of students in the reserved category of Scheduled Castes (Scheduled Tribes) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) committee will be enhanced. Special help will be given in areas where students are facing difficulties.
- To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt. and UGC. To aware the SC/ST students regarding various scholarships program of State Govt. and UGC.
- To take such follow up measures to achieve the objectives and targets laid down by the Govt. of India and the UGC.
Policy
- To circulate Government of India orders and Commission's decisions and to collect information in respect of appointment, training of these communities in teaching and nod-- teaching posts in the Universities and Colleges, in suitable corms by a stipulated date and take follow up action where required.
- To collect reports and information regarding the Government of India orders on the various aspects of education, training and employment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates, for evolving new policies or modifying existing policy by the Commission.
- To analyze the information collected above and prepare reports and digests for onward transmission to the Ministry of Human Resource Development/University Grants Commission and such other authorities as may be required.
- To deal with representations received from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates regarding their admission. recruitment, promotion and other similar matters in Universities/Colleges.
- To monitor the working of the remedial coaching scheme, if approved in the affiliated colleges and university.
- To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
- To maintain a register for employment of SCs/STs in the University and Colleges for the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities for various posts in the university/colleges.
- Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these two communities suffering economic, social and education deprivations.
- The SC/ST Cell exclusively looks after the work related to SC/STs matters and no other work is assigned to the Cell.
- If the required data is not submitted by the given date, UGC reserves the right to withhold either plan or non-plan grant until the required information/data is received. Hence, the colleges are advised to supply the necessary information as required.
